Pathways to Transforming Curriculum for Culturally Diverse Students though a Social Justice Agenda

Kansas City Dreamkeepers hosts the annual Educator and Student Symposium Students and teachers have an opportunity to spend a half-day with education and arts experts.
Students will:
  • Experience college admissions & readiness activities
  • Explore the theme of Social Justice & The Arts for academic success with local Arts experts
Teachers will:
  • Investigate culturally responsive pedagogy to transform classrooms and increase academic achievement for all
  • Earn optional CEU credit
All participants will:
  • Enjoy continental breakfast and take home boxed lunch

Student Agenda

Students will participate in two breakout sessions with arts experts in the community to learn how they can use their unique talents for academic and life success.

Teachers will work with education experts to identify strategies for transforming their classrooms into culturally relevant spaces. The symposium experience is designed for maximum interaction and learning.
